"My approach is about how you feel. Strong, capable, and confident at every stage of life."
Iona has genuinely made a massive difference to my life. Not only as a PT and Marathon Coach but also just being there to check in. Her holistic approach is what stands her apart, she genuinely cares about her clients' wellbeing.
Whether you've got big goals or simply want to get your body moving, Iona has got your back. Her ethos, how you feel mentally and physically, feels like a breath of fresh air.
Really enjoyed this class. It was much more helpful than I had thought it might be. It helped me to feel stronger and to connect breath when engaging the pelvic floor, and banished any fears around what is safe to do in pregnancy.
Connect with other women on the same journey. The Strong with Iona WhatsApp community is a judgement-free space for questions, motivation and real support, and I'd love you to be part of it.
From grief to strength. From teaching to training. This is how I got here, and why I do what I do.
Following the sudden death of my best friend at 26, I began to use running to help me navigate my journey through grief. I ran my first marathon in 2012, and over the last 12 years I've run 15 marathons and 7 ultras, as well as countless half marathons, raising over £20k for a charity set up in my best friend's memory.
Endurance running became my escape, my freedom, and a way to process things that felt too big for words. In more recent years I found strength training, joining the gym I now co-own in 2020 during covid.
My journey through grief was a key catalyst in my love of exercise, but if I'm honest, at the beginning it was less than healthy. From a potential exercise addiction to a negative relationship with food, I spent years shifting my approach. It was pregnancy and becoming a mum that finally changed things.
Continuing to train during both of my pregnancies was a non-negotiable for me. Training right up until the day I gave birth and returning soon after has continued to support both my mental and physical health, and my mission is to support others to do the same.
I am now on a mission to educate and empower women to connect with their pelvic floor and core and prioritise strengthening these key muscle groups both prenatally and postpartum. This is a hugely undervalued, under-researched and under-promoted area of training, and I am here to change that, to support women's overall quality of life and health outcomes post birth.
Since becoming a personal trainer, I've developed my own approach, one that supports women in finding strength, confidence, and power through healthy habits that change their lives one small step at a time. I want women to feel safe and empowered to train whilst pregnant. I want mums to prioritise movement as a non-negotiable. And I want to make training challenging, fun, and motivating. I have seen first hand the power of exercise, of doing hard things, of pushing your body, and want to support other women to do the same.

"Strength is a key part of who I am, it's something I aspire to hold in both body and mind."
Hatch is a leading pregnancy and postnatal training programme. The Active Pregnancy Foundation sets the codes of conduct I work to.
No matter what stage of life you find yourself at, I've got you. Find the approach that fits your lifestyle and your goals.
Whether you're training for your first 5K or tackling a marathon, pregnant or postpartum or just trying to make exercise stick as a busy human, my 1:1 coaching fits around your life.
I specialise in training women who want to feel stronger and fitter at any stage of life. Three ways to work with me, pick the one that fits where you are right now.
Live online training sessions at a frequency we agree at the start, usually one a week. Bespoke programming including on-demand videos, gym workouts, and holistic tools like stretching and breathwork. Ongoing WhatsApp support between sessions.
I'm here to guide and motivate you with on-demand workouts, WhatsApp support and regular check-ins. Best if you want structure and accountability but don't need live sessions.
Personal programming including strength work, stretching and mobility, plus the guidance and expertise to support you through your running journey, wherever you're starting from.
As well as different ways to work with me, I offer a tiered approach to pricing for live sessions. I want my services to be accessible, so I share a range and ask clients to decide where in that range they fit, in terms of both availability of funds and value of service.
My range for live sessions is £35–£60 per hour. I'd urge you to be honest about where you sit in this range and what feels comfortable.
My coaching goes deeper than sets and reps. Movement is one piece of the puzzle, what you eat, how you sleep, your mental health, your daily habits, all of these play a part. Breathwork, nervous system health, nutrition are all part of the work we will do together. The bigger picture is very important to me and I have supported clients through many things, career changes, family and relationships and work ambitions, I'm here for it all.

There's something special about training together. Group energy, real connection, shared motivation. I'm building this community from the ground up and I'd love you to be part of it.
I'm not running classes at the moment. If you'd like to be the first to know when they restart, join the email list and I'll be in touch.
A day to reset, move, and connect. Pregnancy and postpartum focused, coming soon.

45+ guided videos across all three trimesters (with trimester 4 coming soon), filmed in real time during my pregnancy, designed to help you feel mentally and physically strong throughout yours.
This isn't a workout plan or week-by-week schedule. It's a toolkit to support you in training for pregnancy, giving your body what it needs at every stage. Each workout focuses on building confidence and strength through fundamental movement patterns that can be done at home (or gym if you wish).
The sessions include specific movements to strengthen, activate, and stabilise key muscle groups, such as our pelvic floor, that support our changing bodies. The breathwork and stretching sessions support nervous system health and cultivate calm.
Trimester 1, Building strength fundamentals from the ground up. These sessions support you developing strength and fitness, as well as building an awareness of your core and pelvic floor and beginning to work on strengthening these muscles in preparation for our changing bodies.
Trimester 2, Stability, strength and support is the theme of this trimester's sessions, done through full body sessions as well as sessions that specifically target the core and pelvic floor.
Trimester 3, Honing in on preparing for birth and beyond. We focus on endurance and ensuring the core and pelvic floor is conditioned for what is to come.

How refunds work for the Pregnant & Strong programme.
I want Pregnant & Strong to be something you genuinely benefit from. If it isn't the right fit, please reach out, we'll refund you.
You can request a full refund for any reason. Email iona@strongwithiona.com and we'll process it within 7 working days.
I'll refund or partially refund you in full if your circumstances change significantly, for example, if you experience pregnancy loss or a medical complication that means you can no longer exercise safely. Just email and tell me what's happened. I don't need evidence.
Once you've completed the full 40-week programme, I don't offer retrospective refunds. But if you're six months in and something changes, we'll work something out.
I'm a small team, and I'd rather keep things simple and human than hide behind policy language. If in doubt, email me at iona@strongwithiona.com or message me directly on WhatsApp at +44 7346 811504.
